We are a farming business that has diversified into processing Local Authority green waste to make Green 2 Earth composted soil improver; 100% Peat free, sustainable compost that benefits the soil structure, provides slow releasing nitrogen and increases the worm population of the soil. We use it on our own farm land and have seen the benefits of improved soil structure, increased yield, reduction in fertiliser costs and extended growing season. We are pass 100 accredited to ensure a consistent high quality product.
Producing Green 2 Earth Composted Soil Improver
We carry out a number of controlled steps to ensure our product is of a high quality and meets the requirements of the PAS 100 accreditation. We take in green waste, hand sort every load picking out any plastics, metals or stones. The green waste is then shredded, it has to reach a minimum temperature of 65 degrees Celsius. The product is turned up to 8 times and after 10 weeks the compost is screened and ready for sale or spreading on our own land. It is a natural process which is environmentally sustainable.
